Knighthood

Luisa Del Giudice has served on a variety of professional advisory and editorial boards, and as an elected official of various societies to which she belongs. She has served as president of the international KfV – Kommission für Volksdichtung, two terms on the Executive Board of the Société Internationale d’Ethnologie et Folklore (S.I.E.F.), convener of the Italian Section and of the Mediterranean Studies Section of the American Folklore Society.

In 2008, Luisa was elected an Honorary Fellow of the American Folklore Society for her cumulative scholarly contributions to the field of Folklore studies. In October of 2008 she was also knighted by the President of the Italian Republic (Ordine della Stella della Solidarietà Italiana (OSSI), nel grado di Cavaliere). The honor was received on March 14, 2009.
